He\nintroduces the concept of \u2018Golden circle\u2019 which acts as a keystone element in\nthe success of great leaders and companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his book, he quotes the example of Apple to explain the phenomenal success and the leadership position sustained by them in a very short period of time. But, over a period of time, they get\nlost in \u2018How\u2019s\u2019 and \u2018What\u2019s\u2019 while the \u2018Why\u2019 becomes fuzzy. Great companies,\nconsistently delivering in the long run, stay cantered and operate from that\nGolden circle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever is relevant in the professional work\narena can be mapped to our personal life. In the material world of attractions,\nour mind gets carried away easily by the novelty and variety of sensory\nexperiences. The \u2018How\u2019s\u2019 and \u2018What\u2019s\u2019 are so powerful that we spend most of our\nwaking time in pursuit of acquisitions. The possessions could be materialistic\n(objects) or intellectual (knowledge). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Possessions per se are inert and cannot give\nhappiness or cause sorrow. We enjoy or suffer because of the attitude with\nwhich we relate to our possessions. At some point in our lives, we get into a\nsituation where we may possess everything externally but still experience a\nfeeling of hollowness, internally. This is a clear symptom of fuzziness in our\nGolden circle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can breathe a fresh meaning into our\npersonal lives, if every thought, word and action can emanate from a crystal\nclear \u2018WHY\u2019.
