It accounts for around 4 per cent of the gross domestic product. The fundamental strength of the textile industry in India is its strong production base of wide range of fibre \/ yarns from natural fibres like cotton, jute, silk and wool to synthetic \/ man-made fibres like polyester, viscose, nylon and acrylic. Strong fundamentals and Policy Support have aided the Textile Industry growth. India also enjoys significant low-cost advantage in manufacture of Textiles and Apparels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The domestic textile industry in India is projected to reach US$\n250 billion by 2019 from US$ 150 billion in July 2017. Textile and apparel\nexports from India is expected to increase to US$ 82 billion by 2021 from US$\n37.85 million in 2018. Tamil Nadu has the largest cotton textile industry\ncluster in India which contributes to 39 per cent of the total production in\nthe country. &nbsp;Handloom exports from Karur began on a modest scale with\njust 15 exporters in 1975, and today Karur has thousands of exporters and\nproducts are supplied to world\u2019s leading chain stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Annually there are more than 100 International Trade Fair for Textiles and Fabrics held across the globe. These are events that are used to network with prospects, customers and leading textile manufactures. Attending trade fairs are looked at as potential investments that textile manufacturers make as they see this as a great opportunity to build, consolidate and&nbsp;<strong><em>grow their lead database<\/em><\/strong>.
